Go Green Marathon’ Organised by GD Goenka Public School, Dwarka to Promote Environmental Awareness

NEW DELHI: GD Goenka Pub­lic School, Dwarka, organ­ised the ‘Go Green Mara­thon’ event to pro­mote envir­on­mental aware­ness and encour­age sus­tain­able prac­tices among stu­dents, fac­ulty mem­bers, and the wider com­munity. The event aimed to raise con­scious­ness about envir­on­mental issues and inspire indi­vidu­als to take pro­act­ive steps towards pro­tect­ing Earth.

The event com­menced early in the morn­ing, with the par­ti­cipants gath­er­ing on school premises, adorned with vibrant ban­ners and eco­friendly dec­or­a­tions for a 3-km run. The event attrac­ted an eclectic par­tic­Prashant ipa­tion from stu­dents, teach­ers, par­ents, and mem­bers of the local com­munity, all united in their com­mit­ment to envir­on­mental stew­ard­ship.

San­wal, cur­rently serving as the med­ical super­in­tend­ent at Ayush­man Hos­pital, New Delhi, presided over the occa­sion as the chief guest. As the race began, the sheer sports­man­ship, endur­ance, and strategy of these ath­letes were wit­nessed. They nav­ig­ated through the twists & turns of the metic­u­lously designed course, bat­tling both against the heat and the wind and push­ing their lim­its to reach the fin­ish line.

Once the fin­ish line was crossed, the ath­letes were presen­ted with a memento by the chief guest and the prin­cipal as a token of respect and grat­it­ude. The chief guest lauded the school’s efforts in pro­mot­ing an eye to fit­ness as well as the adop­tion of imper­at­ive sus­tain­able prac­tices that have become the need of the hour.

This was promptly fol­lowed by the dis­tri­bu­tion of prizes and cer­ti­fic­ates to the win­ners in recog­ni­tion of their out­stand­ing per­form­ances in two cat­egor­ies – boys and girls, with three prizes in each cat­egory.

The event con­cluded with a formal expres­sion of grat­it­ude towards the chief guest for shar­ing his time and insights. Sin­cere thanks were also exten­ded to all stake­hold­ers whose col­lect­ive efforts made the occa­sion pos­sible.
