Students of GD Goenka School, Jammu Participate in the MCOP-6 Conference.

JAMMU, Feb 9: Students of GD Goenka Public School, Jammu participated in the prestigious Model Conference of Parties (MCOP-6) held in New Delhi. Advay Sharma and Pratyaksh Dhar of Grade XI represented the school and were accompanied by the coordinating teacher, Shalini Mahajan.
More than 240 schools from across the country applied for the conference, out of which only 13 schools were selected nationwide. GD Goenka Public School was the only school from Jammu and Kashmir to be chosen for this esteemed event.
The two-day conference provided a platform for young delegates to deliberate on critical environmental issues and propose sustainable solutions. Students attended workshops on COP Simulation and Negotiations, Ecosystem Restoration and Science Advocacy, followed by a cultural evening celebrating diversity.
Advay Sharma and Pratyaksh Dhar presented on the theme “Conserving the Blue and Green Spaces in Your City by Engaging All Stakeholders.” Their well-researched and insightful presentation was appreciated by the audience.
The conference proved to be an enriching experience, fostering leadership qualities, environmental awareness, and confidence among the students.
