My journey at GD Goenka Public School has been full of encouragement and opportunities. I feel very lucky to have teachers who always believed in me and guided me to give my best. Their constant support gave me the courage to take part in different competitions and showcase my abilities.

One of my proudest moments was winning the Gold Medal in a science fair, where my project was appreciated for its creativity and practical thinking. Science has always been my favourite subject, and my teachers motivated me to ask questions, explore new ideas, and present them with confidence.

Along with science, my school has also helped me discover my talents in other areas. I have participated in quiz competitions, singing events, and inter-house activities, which have helped me grow as a more confident and expressive student. Each opportunity gave me a new experience and taught me how to balance hard work with enjoyment.

Winning prizes in different competitions has been exciting, but what I value most is the encouragement I receive from my teachers and the belief my school places in me. GD Goenka has given me the platform to learn, perform, and dream bigger each day.

I feel proud to be a Goenkan and I hope to continue learning, experimenting, and contributing in different fields. My message to my friends is to never stop trying — because every opportunity is a step towards discovering your true potential.

What comes to your mind when you hear school. Word- school always take me to my memories at GD Goenka. Walking through the gates of GDGPS never felt like just entering just school – it felt like coming home. Being a part of such a institution for 7 years is more than prestigious for sure. From the very first day I was in awe of the world class infrastructure – digital classrooms, well equipped labs, auditorium and green fields, every corner feels like home. Goenka is not just a word but an emotion since 2022. GD Goenka has been more than a school, it is a place where academics unite with activities. The school doesn’t just provide holistic development but also opportunities which bring us closer to who we aspire to be.

I walk in these corridors when every memory replays in my mind of the school assemblies and teacher student interactions. Activities like MUNs, Mock trials, movie making, symphony and fate not only create a vivid landscape of cultural activities but also add colors to the personality of each student.

My journey at GD Goenka started in 2013 when my family and I shifted to Lucknow from Chandigarh. My parents, both strong headed alumni faced a disagreement while deciding which school to send me to. My father had the upper hand since his school provided co-ed education unlike my mother’s. My mother wasn’t the sort to give up easily and so began her research to find the best school in Lucknow that was better than both of theirs combined.

After spending 12 years here, I realized that what makes this institution stand out is that the teachers pay attention to each and every student. They understand that each child is different and their individuality is what makes them special. They recognize their potential and push them forward unlike other schools that simply rotate a good lot. The teacher faculty not only ensures academic development of the child but also encourages students to play sports, participate in the performing arts and brush up their communication skills in public settings.

We live in an ever-changing world that has shifted its focus from degrees to in demand skills and GD Goenka is geared up to prepare their students well before letting them step into the world. Whether it is by introducing new subjects like Artificial Intelligence, Mass Media and Legal Studies; teaching technical skills like editing, videography and podcasting or by providing self-defense training with the National Cadet Corps.

Coming from an army background and having changed school eleven times, adjusting to new environments has always been something that I have struggled with.

Last year in the month of November, I and my family shifted to Lucknow. I was in grade eleventh at the time and finding a good school mid-session was quite a task. So we started enquiring, that’s when we realized that GD Goenka Lucknow was quite popular and widely recommended. Initially, we could not understand the hype about the school. We decided to dedicate an entire day for visiting numerous schools of Lucknow. Among all the schools, that we visited GD Goenka, made the entire admission process seem really easy including transfer of LOC for board registration. Unlike the other school, they did not present us with ‘ifs and buts’ rather welcomed us with open arms. The principal, Dr. Prerna Mitra even arranged a school tour for us, which gave me and my parents a better look on to how things take place within the campus. Next thing, that caught our eyes were the variety of subjects Goenka offered, because of which I could easily find my chosen set of subjects, thereby negating the fear of changing subject mid-session. Then came the entrance exam for which proper syllabus, was provided including the blueprint. Upon joining the school, all the teachers and students were very accommodating and took due care. Teachers made sure that I was comfortable. In every few days they would ask me how things are going on, which made adjustment at Goenka feel like a piece of cake. Even coordinator took steps to ensure that I felt included and not alienated. Considering, second unit examinations were about to commence when I joined, teachers took extra initiative to help me bridge my backlog. Co-curricular were perfectly made to balance with academics. Then came class XIIth in where bridge-courses and podcasts were conducted within the school premises to give every student a better insight on the future fields or paths they intended to pursue. Goenka leaves no stone unturned in maintaining a safe environment for the students. Moreover, teachers take extra care in ensuring that no student falls short on their potential. With that being said GD Goenka School Lucknow truly provides the best nurturing environment.

After becoming a part of this school in grade 11 and having completed two years since, I have truly been able to realize how far an efficient schooling background can take people.

When I joined this institution as a new student, the one thing that intrigued me the most was the sheer amount of subject options that the school was willing to offer even at the intermediate level. GD Goenka is one of the only schools in Lucknow that realizes this essential pre-requisite in a world with numerous new and emerging professions. This assortment of subjects paired with an excellent pedagogy provides a structured academic curriculum.

A healthy and competitive learning environment is created through the plethora of skill development/enhancing activities organized by the school all-year round. I, personally, have been able to seize the opportunities to represent my house in inter-house and flagship competitions along with the school in inter-school events. I was also a part of the internship program of INAYAT NGO which was facilitated by the school as well. A combination of such initiatives increases the area of exposure for students and encourages them to participate and discover.

The 5-day Bridge Course, which constituted of student interactions with professionals from several fields and walks of life, was, according to me, the most beneficial and rewarding chance for the entire school community to question, learn and grow.

My peer group and the student body as a whole is treated and taught in a way which allows them to maintain autonomy in decision making and organizing events with effective guidance from the teachers. This approach has helped us develop good management skills and become solution-oriented individuals. We have developed a symbiotic relationship with the school through collaboration and action.

The school promotes adherence to rules and regulations and has a firm stand on inculcating discipline within the students. I believe that this school has widened our career and life prospects several-fold, becoming an irreplaceable part of our academic journey and a stepping stone towards success.

True education goes beyond textbooks and exams. It’s about shaping our minds, instilling discipline and preparing us to face the world with confidence. At GD Goenka, I’ve come to realize that education is not just about learning facts - it’s about learning how to think critically, act with purpose and grow with every challenge we face.

We, as students are fortunate to be in an institution where we’re encouraged to push our boundaries. It’s not just about excelling academically but mainly about building character. Through various intra and inter-school competitions, MUNs and other co-curricular activities, I’ve learned the value of teamwork, perseverance and the importance of staying focused on the bigger picture. These experiences have taught me that discipline isn’t about following rules for the sake of it; it’s about channeling our energy and effort towards achieving something meaningful.

At GD Goenka each house- Radhakrishnan, Teresa, Tagore and Vivekananda teaches us something unique. Whether it’s striving to lead, serve, conquer or rise and achieve, we are constantly reminded that life is about pushing ourselves and uplifting others.

Being a part of the council body was a life-changing opportunity for me. It’s a chance to not only work towards my personal growth but to help others shine too. The sense of fulfillment that comes from uplifting those around me is something I will always carry with me.

I’m beyond grateful for this institution, which has provided me with the values, strength and discipline to aim higher and shine brighter. GD Goenka isn’t just a school; it’s a place that prepares us for life.

Our school is not just a place of learning but a nurturing ground where every student is encouraged to grow in knowledge, discipline and character. The dedicated teachers guide us patiently, ensuring that we understand our lessons and develop curiosity to learn beyond textbooks. Sometimes, books can be boring, but not in our school because our classrooms have digital boards which allows us to understand the concept more efficiently and easily by playing educational videos on it. With the help of well- equipped laboratories, rich library, spacious classrooms, and focus on sports and co-curricular activities, our school provides all- round development. Our classrooms and buses are fully air conditioned which protect us from scorching heat and ensures that we don’t lose interest in our studies.

For every student our school is sacrosanct but for me it’s more than that. Our school focuses on our confidence building which is very helpful for us in future for interviews, and first time in India, our school is teaching us not only English but American accent. Not only this, but our school is focusing to create an English-speaking environment at home also by teaching the student’s mother English language. Our school has various co- curricular activities like sports (including cricket, basketball, football, athletics, archery, shooting, etc.), music (vocal and instrumental), dance (folk and western) and art and crafts. Our school organizes various competitions and cultural events like inter-house music, dance, exhibitions, etc. We have celebration for specific days like sports day, any festival, teacher’s day and children’s days.

I truly appreciate the efforts of our honorable Chairman Sir (Mr. RS Rathaur), principal Sir (Mr. Girja Shankar Pandey), teachers and staffs who constantly work to maintain such high standards and shape our future. I feel proud to belong to this esteemed school which has given me knowledge, character and unforgettable memories.
